Resumen:
In the present work, it was possible to evaluate Pt catalysts prepared on different supports in order to apply them in the glycerol reforming reaction with steam to obtain hydrogen at 350ºC. A strong effect of the support on the behavior of catalysts was determined. Materials with acid properties demonstrated low activity to gaseous products with formation of lateral products due to dehydration and condensation reactions, which would lead to the coke formation and to the fast deactivation of the catalyst. Supports with neutral or basic properties allowed to obtain catalysts with excellent conversion levels to gaseous products, high selectivity to H2 and CO2, and a well stability in time.
