Resumen:
Photo-Fenton treatment under solar simulated irradiation atcircumneutral pH was evaluated on the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenoxiacetic acid (2,4-D) in natural groundwatersamples coming from a rural community in Candelaria,Colombia. The initial 2,4-D concentration was 23.7 mg L-1and was added to the groundwater samples. The effect of iron and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)concentration, and circumneutral pH in natural groundwater, was evaluated through an experiment design model. Theseresults showed that the main parameter influencing the photo-Fenton process was the pH and the best combination of iron,H2O2 and pH was 0.3 mg L-1, 10 mg L-1 and 6.78 unitsrespectively, obtaining average degradation efficiencies of72.86% in 120 min of simulated solar irradiation.
