Resumen:
Photo-Fenton treatment under solar simulated irradiationat circumneutral pH was evaluated on the disinfection in natural groundwatersamples coming from a rural community in Candelaria, Colombia. The initial E. coli K12 concentration was 106-107UFC. mL-1 and was added to the groundwater samples.Culturability andviability techniques such as plate count on solid agar (PC) and Direct ViableCount-Fluorescence in Situ Hybridation (DVC FISH) were used to study theinactivation of E. coli K12 byphoto-Fenton process. The experiment was carried out in the presence of 0,3mg·L−1 of Fe3+ and 10 mg·L−1 of H2O2and pH 7,1, culturability was strongly affected after 70 min and viability completeinactivation reached a 360 min of simulated solar irradiation.
