Resumen:
Transesterification reaction is a useful tool in organic synthesis, having wide application both in academic as well as industrial research; for example, in the preparation of £]-ketoesters used as chemical intermediates in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, chemical and polymer industry. A non-catalytic transesterification of £]-ketoesters requires the use of either excess of £]-ketoesters or longer reaction time; and employs high boiling alcohols. In addition, this reaction is currently catalyzed by strong acids such as hydrochloric, sulphuric and ptoluenesulphonic. In this paper, we focused on further effect of the catalytic activity of hybrid materials based on silica sol-gel; we report here a mild and sustainable transesterification of £]-ketoesters with various alcohols
