Resumen:
Recently, a new application of mesoporous silica as a drug delivery system has been explored due to their inert nature and good biocompatibility. Mesoporous and well ordered silica has been use as controlled drug deliver system. The drug molecules can be hosted within the mesopores by immersion techniques and released via diffusion-based mechanism without drug-silica interaction. The aim of this study is to determine the feasibility of loading collagen-PVP molecules into ordered mesoporous silica. Collagen-PVP (Collagen-Polyvinylpyrrolydone) has different medical uses such as tissue regeneration. As well as, it increases tissue formation build up to 30%, including mineralized ones. Therefore, this Silica-Collagen PVP material could be used in the regeneration of scars. The mesoporous silica was prepared using a triblock copolymer and stabilized at 500 °C and later was loaded the collagen-PVP.   The small angle powder X-ray diffraction patterns of silica and silica-collagen PVP indicate the existence of a high degree of hexagonal mesoscopic organization. The N2 sorption ishoterms are type IV typical of mesoporous materials with a narrow pore size distribution and large surface area. In vitro Collagen-PVP release measurements were carried out by mean of UV/VIS spectroscopy. The cumulative release profiles of Silica-Collagen PVP in distilled water indicate two step of release, an initial fast release and relatively slow subsequent liberate.
