Resumen:
A natural kaolinite from Argentinean deposits was used as started material for thepreparation of catalytic support. The raw mineral was thermally treated and chemicallymodified by different methods: heating at 550°C to convert into metakaolin, acid treatment, washing and drying. The characterization was carried out by XRD, ESEM-EDS; FT-IRSpectroscopy and SBET. A noticeable increase of surface areas and chemical compositionchange occurred by acid treatment. The new material was used as support of iso and heteropolyanions (POMs and HPOMs)such as AHMo, [XMo6] [X(III)= Al, Co, Rh)] and [Co2Mo10].Also the new support was functionalized with amino-siliceous agents in order to reach anappropriate surface for the adsorption of POMs and HPOMs.The catalytic performance was analyzed in the clean selective oxidation of Diphenilsulfide(DFS) with H2O2. The system containing Mo presented conversions of diphenylsulfidearound 90% and high selectivity to diphenylsulfone near to 95%.
