Resumen:
The Green Chemistry include among its principles, the use of catalysts instead of stoichiometricreagents1. Keggin heteropolyacids (HPAs) can beused as acid and redox catalysts2. In oxidationreactions, HPAs allow the use of hydrogen peroxideas oxidant, instead of inorganic salts, which producea lot of waste.Sulfoxides and sulfones are important asintermediates in organic synthesis3, and many ofthem have biological activity4. These compounds areprincipally obtained by sulfide oxidation5,6.In this work, we report the use of two different HPAs:PMoAl and PMoAl0.5V0.5, as catalysts in the selectiveoxidation of many sulfides, employing hydrogenperoxide as green oxidant reagent.
