Resumen:
Clay minerals from Argentinian deposits were characterized and chemically modified by conventional methods to obtain porous heterostructured supports (PCH). Then, PCH was functionalized with an amino-silane agent in order to obtain appropriate surface for the adsorption of HPOMs Anderson type [MMo6O24H6]3- with M= Co (III) and Rh (III) and a structural derivate, [Co2Mo10H4O38]6-. The characterization of the modified and impregnated materials was carried out by XRD, ESEM-EDS, Raman, AAS and SBET. The results of chemical analysis by AAS showed a concentration between 8 and 14 % of Mo adsorbed on the catalysts. The analysis by physico-chemical techniques revealed an interaction between Mo=O groups (active catalytic sites) and the surface of PCH. The catalytic evaluation showed selectivity to sulfone (> 90 %). The CoMo6 system was selective to sulfoxide (83 % selectivity) only in the first stage of the process. The activity was correlated with presence of noble metal in the system containing Rh (III) and with less symmetries of the molecule in Co2Mo10 system which its higher catalytic activity is associated to the active sites availability.
