Resumen:
The kinetics of sorption of Cr(III) ions on zeolite NaA, NaY and zeolite structures obtained from the conversion of spent catalysts from catalytic cracking units was studied. Samples were obtained by hydrothermal synthesis in alkaline medium of NaOH. Sorption experiments were done in batch reactors. It was found that the zeolitic solids behave as cationic exchangers of potential utility in the removal of Cr +3 from aqueous solutions. The analysis of the kinetic data revealed that the retention mechanism is coincident for all the zeolitic solids tested, and corresponds to a pseudo second order kinetics.
