Resumen:
Clay minerals from Argentinean deposits were characterized and chemically modifiedby conventional methods to obtain porous heterostructured supports (PCH) for catalyticpurposes. Then, PCH was functionalized with an amino-silane agent in order to obtainappropriate surface for the adsorption of HPOMs Anderson type [MMo6O24H6]3- with M=Co (III) and Rh (III) and a structural derivative, [Co2Mo10H4O38]6- [1,2]. Thecharacterization of the modified and impregnated materials was carried out by XRD,ESEM-EDS, Raman, AAS and SBET. Results of chemical analysis by AAS showed aconcentration between 8 and 14 % of Mo adsorbed on catalysts. The analysis byphysicochemical techniques revealed an interaction between Mo=O groups (activecatalytic sites) and the PCH surface. The catalytic evaluation in the clean oxidation ofDPS using H2O2 at 80ºC [3] showed selectivity to sulfone (> 90 %). The PCH/CoMo6system was selective to sulfoxide (83 % selectivity) only in the first stage of the process. The activity was correlated with the presence of noble metal in the PCH/RhMo6 systemand with less symmetries of the molecule in PCH/Co2Mo10 system, whose highercatalytic activity is associated to the active site active site availabilities.
