Resumen:
The method for refining atomic and experimental parameters in electronprobe microanalysis, consists in minimising the differences between anexperimental spectrum and an analytical function accounting for characteristicpeaks and the bremsstrahlung from the corresponding sample, also includingdetection artifacts. The algorithm starts from certain initial values for the differentparameters involved, which are optimised by means of a numerical iterativeprocess. In the program POEMA presented here, mass concentrations are theparameters to refine. An interactive set of menus allows the user to enter andmodify excitation condition values, atomic parameters and data related to samplecomposition. Thus, POEMA is a useful and versatile tool for standardlessquantification starting from a composition estimate obtained by means of anysemiquantitative analysis.
