Resumen:
Triatoma virus (TrV) belongs to the Dicistroviridae family, a viral family that includes 15 small, non-enveloped, and +ssRNA viruses pathogenic to beneficial arthropods and to insect pests. TrV-VLPs can be obtained either by purification of infected insects (natTrV-VLPs) or by a recombinant method using a baculovirus-insect cell expression system (recTrV-VLPs). In this study we analyze the humoral immune response of Mus musculus BALB/c mices inoculated with natTrV-VLPs and with recTrV-VLPs. The results presented here provide an insight into the immunogenicity of the TrV-VLPs and its potential application as adjuvant and epitope carrier.
