Resumen:
Aedes aegypti Linnaeus is the main vector of dengue virus in Argentina. It is of great importance to public health to keep the knowledge of its geographic distribution and density up-to-date. The aim of this study was to determine the level of infestation in Santa Rosa, La Pampa and the presence of the vector in 8 towns from La Pampa Province. In Santa Rosa, the larval stages were collected in February 2012, from used vehicle tires and containers in cemeteries using a 300 ml dipper, and then filtering its content. To detect the presence of the mosquito in other towns, eggs of Ae. aegypti were collected using ovitraps. The existence of vector larvae was determined in 27 of the 29 tires with water. On the other hand, 11 containers with water found in cemeteries from Santa Rosa were negative. There were positive ovitraps in 6 towns reviewed. With these records the distribution of Ae. aegypti is extended in the province of La
