Resumen:
In this work the synthesis and characterization of new mixed Cu(II) complexes containing saccharinate and different amino acids as ligands, are reported. The obtained complexes had the general stoichiometry           [Cu(sac)2(aa)].xH2O whith aa = glycine, aspartic acid, serine, and glutamic acid. The IR and Ramn spectra of the complexes were compared with those of the precursor [Cu(sac)2(H2O)4], the free ligands and similar Cu(II) complexes of each of the amino acids. Coordination occurs through the deprotonated heterocyclic N atom of saccharin, and the amino acids act as bidentate through the amino and carboxylato groups, generating a pseudo-octahedral geometry around the metal center. Powder X-ray diffraction studies of the complexes show that they present different structural characteristics. Their unit cell parameters were determined and are briefly discussed.
