Resumen:
During the partial reduction of oxygen in biological systems, some toxic forms are formed, such as superoxide, H2O2 and HO? (ROS). Although there are defensive barriers (antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx) and other systems (GSH), it happens that in different types of diseases (depression, hyperthyroidism, etc.) there is a state of oxidative stress. Considering the catalytic abilities demonstrated by Cu(II) complexes (dismutation of superoxide anion and simulation of peroxidase enzymes) [1,2] two new copper compounds were tested in vitro and it was demonstrated that behave as efficient catalysts.
