Synthesis, spectral and structural characterization of metal complexes with acythiourea ligands

Three news complexes of Zn(II), Cu(II) and Co(III) with N,N-diethylbenzyl-N´-(thiophene-2-carbonyl)-thiourea (HL) have been synthetized. The ligand acts as monoanionic bidentate chelates of the type κ(O,S). The synthesized complexes ZnL2, CuL2, CoL3 have been studied by IR, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction (ZnL2, CuL2). The compounds were obtained by the reaction showed in the Scheme 1, as crystalline solids
