Resumen:
cardiovascular diseases in menopausal women. We have previously modified the structure of the AngII receptor blocker telmisartan(Telm) with Zinc (ZnTelm), demonstrating higher drug effectiveness. In this work, we examined whether chronic ZnTelm treatment is abetter alternative to prevent cardiovascular damage during menopause than Telm alone. We used 16-week-old spontaneouslyhypertensive rats (SHR) which were sham-operated or bilateral ovariectomized (OVX-SHR). OVX-SHR rats were randomly divided into3 groups: non-treated (control), treated with Telm or ZnTelm (10 or 11 mg/kg/day, respectively, through drinking water for 8 weeks). Results (n=6 per group) were analyzed by ANOVA. * p
