Resumen:
This work presents a method analyze monoacylglycerols (MAGs) qualitatively and quantitatively by liquid chromatography-electrospray Ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) using previously synthesized deuterated analogs as analytical standards. Endocannabinoids are conserved lipid mediators present and responsible for multiple biological processes vital for a great variety of organisms. In C. elegans, it has been reported that certain MAGs such as 2-arachidonoylglicerol (2-AG), display different roles like cholesterol trafficking and modulation of dauer formation. A quantitative analysis method to detect MAGs using the stable isotopically labeled analogs which provide reliable results in a fast-chromatographic run, is shown. The procedure main goal is to be able to study the roles of MAGs in C. elegans and other organisms (Fernández de Luco et al. 2019).
