Resumen:
The aim of our work is to expand the number of BVMO biocatalysts available for the production of esters or lactones that are valuable precursors for chemical applications. In this study, we cloned a gene from Bradyrhizobium japonicum that encodes a protein with the characteristic consensus sequences and dinucleotidebinding motifs of Type I BVMOs. This protein also contains an amino terminal extension, a feature observed in few BVMOs. We expressed this gene in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) and evaluated the substrate preferences of thisnovel BVMO from B. japonicum by whole-cell biotransformations. Different lineal aliphatic, monocyclic, bicyclic and aromatic ketones were tested as substrates. Acknowledgments: ANPCyT, CONICET, UNR
