Resumen:
In this work we employ ligands rich in O-donor sites with a central phenolato and terminal bis-carboxylato or phenolato/carboxylato groups. These ligands were chosen because phenols afford Mn complexes stable in aqueous media while carboxylato groups are able to act as intramolecular bases to assist the proton transfer coupled to water oxidation.
