Resumen:
In this work, new Mn-based biomimetic complexes formed with ligands having high ratio of O/N-donor sites were tested as water-oxidation catalysts in heterogeneous systems, aimed at correlating their catalytic activity to the Mn environment. We used a series of phenolato-bridged complexes [Mn2L(OMe)(MeOH)x]n+ adsorbed on kaolin, with Ce4+ or ClO? as oxidant. In these complexes, L = 2,6-bis[((A)(B)amino)metil]-4-methylphenol, where A/B are pyridyl/phenolate, aryl/phenolate, phenolate/phenolate, phenolate/carboxylate or carboxylate/carboxylate arms.
