Education and outreach are long term strategic tools for thepromotion of the responsible and peaceful uses of chemistry.Chemistry is a wonderful science which has done, and willcontinue to do much good for humanity. Thousands of newchemicals are synthesized every day that can render enormousbenefits for the common good. However, as with any science,there is the possibility that chemistry may be misused as ithas been done in the past. For this reason, awareness-raisingabout the multiple uses of chemical substances and the dualuse of scientific knowledge is needed at all levels of chemistryeducation and public outreach programs. This chapter describesa practical approach on the incorporation of these issues intothe chemistry curricula.
