Resumen:
Dissertation writing constitutes a personal and professional challenge that has a strong impact at an institutional and even national level. Indeed, the completion of the thesis is the crowning moment of postgraduate studies. Simultaneously, graduation rate is one of the main indicators of effectiveness of postgraduate programs, with regional and international repercussions.Due to the importance of dissertation writing, there are several useful strategies to mitigate difficulties. In this regard, virtual and face-to-face teaching practices related to thesis writing are presented: gains and limitations based on a contextualized cases study in Argentina. After the presentation of the different aspects, current challenges and future perspectives about virtual and face-to-face teaching practices for thesis writing are posed for discussion.
