Resumen:
Giving and following spatial directions is a common everyday task for children, as well as an important aspect of human spatial cognitionOur questions:Do middle SES parents use more or different types of spatial directions when providing information to their children about the location of objects than low SES ones? If they do, Do these differences affect young children?s ability to locate objects and to what extent? Participants 31 Argentinean children (36 to 57 months old, M = 49 months, SD = 6) with one of their parents (27 mothers, four fathers). Sixteen middle SES dyads (MSES) and 15 low SES (LSES) dyads participated. Overall, our results suggest that providing effective spatial directions is more a matter of quality than quantity.
