In this essay I address the different positions regarding the laws under debate on social and solidarity economy in Argentina. This essay is the companion of other two essays of my authorship published also by the AMERICAN ANTHROPOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION, namely Community Currencies, Exchange and Gift Economies in Latin America and Latin America and Social Solidarity Economy Legislation.
