Resumen:
In 1 the last years there was an increase in the use ofseveral organisms such as plants and yeast for medical andbiotechnological purposes. Both organisms are very usefulwhen research in humans is nonpossible or unfeasible dueto ethical issues. There are several advantages of using modelorganisms such as the availability of genomic information, the possibility to easily make genetic manipulation andscreenings, and availability of mutants in desired genes. In2 addition, these organisms are generally easy to grow.
