Resumen:
The photocatalytic inactivation of Bacillus subtilis spores in air was studied employing an annular, fixed-bed reactor filled with TiO2-coated glass rings and irradiated with UV lamps. Experiments were carried out under different irradiation conditions. Inactivation was evaluated along the treatment by analyzing the viability of spores attached to the catalytic rings (inside the reactor) and in the air outlet. Photonic efficiency parameters, which relate the inactivation of spores with the incident radiation, were calculated.
