Resumen:
A benchmarking test is described for a cloth formulated with metallic silver nanoparticles thatwe named texArgen, against two commercial sticking plasters currently in the market. We aimed atproving that the material, based on colloidal nanosilver, not only is hypoallergenic, but is also amore effective biocide for common pathogens than the silver compounds typically used toimpregnate bandages and similar products. For these tests we used the standard microorganismStaphylococcus aureus. We found that none of the commercial products samples showedbacteriostatic activity. On the other hand, all texArgen samples developed clearly visible zones ofinhibition of significant sizes.
