Resumen:
A new theoretical result concerning finite-horizon, deterministic, optimalcontrol problems with nonlinear smooth dynamics, when there exists a timesubinterval of regularity, is established and subsequently illustrated through theexploration of a test-case. The admissible values of the manipulated variable areassumed to be bounded, which may turn the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equationinappropriate. However the demonstration of the main theorem uses the propertiesof regular Hamiltonian flows, combined with the rigorous application of Pontryagin?smaximum principle. The potentiality of this result to design on-line numerical schemesfor suboptimal control strategies is explored
