Resumen:
The photocatalytic activity under UV and visible irradiation of a series of composite CeO2-TiO2 was evaluated using acetaldehyde as a model pollutant. The activities of three composite catalysts are compared by means of efficiency parameters. To this end, the lamps emission properties as well as the radiation field-catalysts interaction inside the reactor were modelled and numerically calculated. The stability of the systems under reaction conditions was also studied. Overall, the results show that the composite containing 2.5 CeO2 mol% outperforms the titania nanoreference by a factor of at least 2. This evidences the potential of the CeO2-TiO2 composites, a highly active and stable system, under sunlight illumination conditions.
