Resumen:
A corrugated wall photocatalytic reactor for air pollution treatment has been studied. The reactor consists of a series of triangular section channels operating in continuous mode. The effect of the folding angle on the rector performance was addressed. The efficiency in radiation use, the pollutant conversion and dimensionless numbers were obtained for different angles. The modelling was achieved through the use of local view factor computations, the ray tracing method, CFD simulations and dimensionless engineering numbers. Results indicate the existence of an optimum angle within the range 15°-30°, where the performance parameters showed their most suitable values. The approach probed to be accurate and flexible for further optimization and design of a larger scale reactor.
