Resumen:
In this work we develop and implement an improved kinematic description of the relative movements of the surfaces during the liquid transference in roto-gravure printing applications. To study in detail how the operational parameters, capillary number and cavity shape influence of the cavity empty, we conduct numerical simulations of 3D axisymmetric cavities and 2D planar grooves. The results show that important differences arises when printing processes of dots or continuos lines are considered. Moreover, the results show that at low capillary numbers, care must be taken when consider the kinematic model of the system, because the results strongly depends on it.
