Resumen:
Diesel soot oxidation activity and stability of BaKCo/CeO2 catalysts were studied using different cobalt precursors. The activity, was higher for the catalyst prepared from Co(NO3)2 compared with the catalyst prepared from Co(AcO)2, most probably due to the presence of KNO3 with high movility. The thermal stability is lower for the catalyst prepared from Co(NO3)2, with a higher loss of K.  The stability in presence of humid air is good in both catalysts.  In presence of SO2, the stability is higher for the catalysts prepared from Co(NO3)2, since the K2SO4 formed, which is responsible for the catalyst deactivation, reacts with Ba(NO3)2 forming KNO3, thus slowing down the elimination of the component active for the soot oxydation.
