Resumen:
The acylation of guaiacol with acetic acid in gas phase was studied employing a series of catalysts with acidic properties well-differentiate (HPA/SiO2, HBEA, HZSM-5, NaZSM-5, ZnZSM-5 and SiO2/Al2O3) and the relationship between their acid and textural properties with the production of C- and O-acylation products from guaiacol was investigated. The textural properties of the catalysts were obtained by physisorption of N2 and the density, nature (Lewis or Brønsted acid sites) and strength of the surface acid sites were determined by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) using pyridine as probe molecule.
