Resumen:
In the present work, Ni, Ru and Ni-Ru catalysts were synthesized by wet impregnation over SiO2. An amorphous and high purity silica (98.5 %, area BET de 318 m2 g-1) was obtained from rice husk, sulfur-free, which allows its application as support for metal catalysts. The structure sensitivity of the reaction is an important issue to be considered. The effect of the crystallite size has been recently discussed3. In an attempt to study that influence, the size of the NiO was modified by the addition of polyethylene glycol (PEG 400) to the synthesis solution (Ni-Ru-P)4. The solids were characterized by different techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, EDX, TPR and XPS. With these results, we have discussed the relationship between the catalytic activity and the surface properties of these solids.
