Resumen:
Reactions that produce aromatic compounds from linear hydrocarbons from naphtha are of great importance because of the high value of the products. The catalyst Pt/KY proved to be promising in dehydrocyclization reaction of the n-octane with a large selectivity to the production of aromatic compounds, 85%, a good result compared with catalysts Pt/SiO2 and Pt/KL whose selectivity to the production of aromatic compounds were 28 and 56%, respectively. These results are related to the wide channels of Y zeolite, compared to L zeolite and its ability to anchor platinum particles on the residual acidic sites, keeping the metal active in the dehydrocyclization reaction.
