Resumen:
The study of oriented zeolitic growths is focused commonly in membrane research but also these ordered structures has demonstrated that can have a great potential as structured catalysts [1]. The secondary synthesis is a flexible technique that can lead in obtaining preferential orientations. This work is an extension of a recent paper [2] and the objective here is to further discuss on the substrate role in the secondary growth of Mordenite. We have employed three supports: Fecralloy® flat strips, Cordierite monoliths (400 cps) and CSi foams (30 ppi). The steel supports were calcined at 900 ºC prior to the synthesis. The growths were performed in identical conditions: the supports were seeded with nanometric Mordenite crystals and then subjected to a hydrothermal treatment for 24 h at 180 ºC [3]. All growths were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Electron Probe Micro Analysis (EPMA), X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
