Resumen:
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the catalytic performance of the Wilkinson complex for the homogeneous semihydrogenation of 1-heptyne, a relatively long chain alkyne, and also to propose a method to regenerate the Wilkinson catalyst for its re-utilization. The Lindlar catalyst was used as a reference system. The commercial and the regenerated Wilkinson catalysts exhibited high activities and selectivities. These catalytic performances were better than that of the Lindlar catalyst, under the same conditions. The regeneration of the Wilkinson complex after the reaction was made by obtaining the Rh metal, then RhCl3 and finally [RhCl(PPh3)3] according to the Wilkinson’s technique.
