Resumen:
A highly stable,
active, non-methane and carbon forming catalyst is required for use in a
membrane reactor to produce high purity H2 through the WGSR. In such
a process, the catalyst should operate at ca. 673 K as a compromise between the
impairing effect of CO upon the H2
permeability and the thermal deterioration of the membrane. In a previous work,
a Rh/La2O3.SiO2 catalyst was characterized and
used in the WGSR [1]. However, this catalyst promotes methanation under membrane
reactor conditions. In this work, a stable, active and well-characterized Pt
catalyst is presented, which minimizes the
formation of methane. Its performance in the membrane reactor is reported.
