Resumen:
Palladium membranes supported on porous stainless steel (PSS) substrates have been considered as promising materials for hydrogen purification. However, the pore sizes and roughness of the supports impair the fabrication of a thin defect-free Pd layer on top of them. To overcome this problem, the deposition of an intermediate layer between the PSS and the Pd-alloy is commonly implemented. In this work, the vacuum assisted ZrO2 dip-coating technique was optimized to obtain PdAu composite membranes on top of PSS disks (PSSD).
