Resumen:
The restrictions on the generation of air pollutants from different sources are becoming more severe. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new technologies for remove substances such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), partially oxidized hydrocarbons (HCs) and carbon monoxide (COx). Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of NOx is one of the method most commonly used for industrial gases. The use of NH3 as a reductant became in more attractive business solution but, NH3 is expensive and has problems of operation, storage and handling due to its high toxicity and corrosion. Thus, the SCR of NOx under oxidizing conditions using HCs as reducing agents (SCR-HC) has acquired a great interest in recent decades. This process can be coupled with adsorption and desorption of HCs at low temperatures. The 80% of HCs produced during the low temperature phase and through the converter without reacting. This works presents FTIR studies of toluene and butane adsorption at low temperatures on NaMOR catalysts exchanged with different load of silver. Also, these catalysts are evaluated in the SCR of NOx with butane3 as a reductant became in more attractive business solution but, NH3 is expensive and has problems of operation, storage and handling due to its high toxicity and corrosion.
