Resumen:
The catalytic partial hydrogenation of acetylenes has been widely studied in the last yearsdue to its academic and industrial interest. Products obtained from these reactions are useful inthe synthesis of fine chemicals and biological active compounds. In a recent work we foundthat low loaded W and Pd bimetallic catalysts proved to be very active and selective for thepartial hydrogenation of a long chain terminal alkyne, 1-heptyne. The objective of this workis to study the behavior of the bimetallic catalyst WPd/Al2O3 during the semi-hydrogenation of4-octyne, a long chain non terminal alkyne
