Resumen:
The Wilkinson complex was tested as a catalyst in the partial hydrogenation of 1-heptyne, a medium chain alkyne, at T = 303 K and PH2 = 150 kPa. The complex was used in homogeneous system as well as supported on i) -Al2O3 and ii) a commercial carbonaceous material, RX3. Characterization by means of XPS and FTIR revealed that the anchored complex did not lose its chemical identity, and that it was the catalytically active species or a precursor to it. With respect to conversions and selectivities, the Wilkinson complex immobilized on RX3 was the best-performing of all the systems, including the Lindlar catalyst used as a reference. It was also proposed a method for recovering Rh metal from remaining solutions, and from this regenerating the complex for reusing.
