Resumen:
A gas chromatography (GC) method for the simultaneous determination of glycerol, methyl oleate, and mono-, di-, and triglycerides is described in order to follow the reaction product evolution during the catalytic synthesis of monoglycerides by glycerolysis of methyl oleate. All the mixture analytes were determined in a single GC run in 35 minutes using a 15 m-capillary column of 100% methyl polysiloxane and trimethylsilylation of the free hydroxyl groups of glycerol, mono- and diglycerides. Two internal standards, n-hexadecane and cholesterol, were used. The method was validated by evaluating the accuracy from recovery experiments using reference samples, the precision by six successive analyses for each sample, the specificity by identifying the chromatographic elusion peaks, and the linearity by determining the regression coefficients of the calibration curves.
