Resumen:
Knowledge is currently considered a capital that has an economic value for an organization; a strategic resource used to increase productivity in dynamic competitive environments. Considerable knowledge management efforts has has been made for capturing, codifying, storing and disseminating knowledge in organizations. However, the major part of this effort was made in an isolated manner, without linking organizational knowledge with organizational business processes. We propose an agent-based architecture for an integration of business processes orchestrated by a workflow management system with the organizational knowledge repository. This architecture proactively provides relevant knowledge to tasks considering their context, and stores relevant knowledge in a proper way for future requirements. Moreover, we present adocument annotation and retrieval strategies, define agents’ behaviour, and develop a workflow pattern that enables this integration.
