Resumen:
The design of Vapor/Gas-Liquid separation vessels is currently based on heuristic and a step by step procedure. We developed one MILP model that embeds the aforementioned heuristics and we also generate a MINLP model. Significant departure from approaches based on heuristics are found. Given all the different heuristics, we developed two models, one optimistic and one pessimistic.
