Resumen:
This work addresses the model-based optimization of hybrid processes for carboncapture from power plants flue gases combining chemical absorption and membranesystems. The main goal of the paper is to investigate the influence of the total CO2recovery on the optimal design and operating conditions of the whole process when thetotal annual cost (TAC = OPEX + annualized CAPEX) is minimized. The contributionof each process to the total annual cost is discussed in detail.
