Resumen:
Software Architecture Design is still considered as a challenging problem because it usually involves a complex process of exploration, evaluation, and composition of design alternatives. Increasingly, modelling languages, methods, and computer-aided tools are available to face these activities. However, they do not know how design is actually done. In fact, design knowledge exclusively rests in the mind of designers, and there is an urgent need to move it, as much as possible, to a computer-supported environment in order to capture this type of knowledge and make it reusable. This contribution addresses this objective by introducing a model for capturing how products under development are transformed along software architecture design processes. An operational perspective is considered where design decisions can be modelled by means of design operations. The situation calculus is used to formally express the existence of an object in a given state of a design process.
