Resumen:
In this work, the effect of the number of (active redundant) capture trains on the system performance, coupled to a 800 MW natural gas combined cycle power plant is studied, while considering technological restrictions which limit the amount of flue gas that can be treated by a given absorption- desorption loop. Both design and operation modes of such system are optimized simultaneously for several failure scenarios, in order to minimize the total annual cost.
