Resumen:
Knowledge management is no longer just an idea in industry leaders´ minds; it has become a requirement to survive in today´s competitive environment. In this paper, we propose an enlarged ontology-driven architecture based on organizational memories that allows to extend the domain ontology by adding new concepts during the annotated process of a document. This approach uses an intelligent agent to update the domain ontology which is used as a domain knowledge representation in knowledge annotate and retrieve strategies. We present a conceptual architecture for document annotation and retrieval and its implementation. Besides, we model the interaction between the intelligent agent and its environment to maintain the domain ontology updated, and present a straightforward strategy for determining domain-specific concepts.
